This film was shot in the countryside around the Zaan, within an hour’s travel time from Amsterdam. It could have been anywhere from South Africa to Australia, or even in the UK and France. The farm was in full use, yet we were able to make a workable logistics plan to shoot there. It only took a morning’s rehearsal to herd the sheep by drone.

This film was shot in the south of Holland, in Limburg county, three hours away from Amsterdam. Crew and cast stayed on the same estate as where most scenes were shot - very convenient. Pack shots were done in a pop-up studio, built into a shed. Styling and make-up was set-up in another one nearby. The estate itself provided catering and outdoors seating right next to set.

This film was shot in both the north and south of Amsterdam. As the talent, Lewandowski, is from Poland, the challenge was to make everything look Polish. Southern Amsterdam had the right soccer fields and changing rooms, and in the north we found the perfect barbershop.

This film was shot in Rotterdam and Delft, both an hour’s drive from Amsterdam. The university of Delft is one of the oldest in the Netherlands, and could easily be made to look like ‘anywhere in the world’. The shipyard was ‘Titanic impressive’ for its size, and had a timeless quality to it.

This film was shot in the centre of Amsterdam, just around the corner from our offices. We added a few pillars in post and made it look like a US or UK therapist’s setting. The film was completed in a single day.

This film was shot in and around Amsterdam. It gives a good overview of the interesting, adaptable backdrops you can find here, and really could be anywhere in the world. The set-up to shoot the scenes was very small, guaranteeing both the intimate feel as well as the production value. Documentary set-ups are very doable in the Netherlands.

Cast & Animals

This film was shot on the Goliath rollercoaster in Biddinghuizen. Juan wanted to shoot everything in camera. Considering all the safety regulations, weather circumstances, and out of business hours shooting, the project was quite a challenge and turned out to be the adventure of the year. All crew and cast stayed overnight on the premises in 75 bungalows - it was just like our own summer festival. Casting was extensive, including celebs from the UK, models from Amsterdam, street-cast locals and real life soccer fans.

CARLSBERG

This film was shot in and around Amsterdam. The entire cast were ‘real people’ (not actors or models) and played ‘themselves’, in their own clothing. The film shows a diverse range of people and faces, all of whom could be from anywhere in the world. The set-up to shoot the scenes was really small, guaranteeing both the intimate feel, as well as production value. Documentary set-ups like this are very doable in the Netherlands.

MENZIS

This film was shot in Amsterdam. The lead and sub-leads are really excellent, talented Dutch actors, fluent in English but with a noticeable Dutch accent. However, we wanted to show you this film’s potential, as the VO could easily be replaced with Scandinavian, German or English. The possibilities with Dutch talent are basically endless.

This film was shot in and around both Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The film gives a good overview of interesting people and faces, who could believably be from anywhere in the world. The set-up to shoot all the scenes was really small, as we wanted to be flexible and guarantee great production value. Documentary set-ups are very doable in the Netherlands.

This film was shot in and around Amsterdam, right from the city centre to the harbour of IJmuiden. The entire cast were ‘real people’ (not actors or models), playing ‘themselves’, in their own clothing. It shows an authentic range of interesting people and faces, all of whom could be from anywhere in the world. The set-up to shoot the scenes was really small, guaranteeing that the cast could perform freely and add to the production value of the film. Documentary set-ups like this are very doable in the Netherlands.

This film was shot in the countryside of the Zaan, on a real farm, with the real farmer and his son. We cast them both while scouting the farm and surrounding area. Although the set-up was large due to the technicalities and crew, we kept the actual set very small to give the non-actor cast the ability to perform authentically.

FAQ's

Are there mountains in NL?

Nope. And that's a good thing, because it gives us endless horizons. You can impose any background you want on a skyline like ours.

Do the Dutch speak English?

Well, the Netherlands has the highest English proficiency ranking in the world - so that’s a yes.

What’s the difference between Holland, The Netherlands and Amsterdam?

The Netherlands started out as two provinces, named North and South Holland. There’s now ten others, and together they're called The Netherlands. Amsterdam is the capital (in the province of North Holland).

Is the Netherlands easy to reach?

Schiphol airport has the most direct flights to any other country, and it’s ranked as the 2nd largest flight hub in the world - so yes, very easy.

Does smoking cannabis have any effect on the production process?

We can’t confirm this either way. Although non of us are smokers, usage and possession of less than 30 grams of Cannabis is considered legal here - but only in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.

What else?

The Netherlands is the world’s healthiest country when it comes to diet, was the first to legalise same sex marriage, and is the birthplace of gin (as well as CD’s, DVD’s and the microscope).

As if that’s not enough, NL also has the oldest airline, KLM, is the safest country to cycle in, and best of all (or perhaps because of all these things) is in the top 3 happiest countries worldwide. Say cheese.

COVID-19 Info

Although the world is in a better place now, we obviously still take all Covid-19 precautions and regulations very seriously. Here’s the most updated info about travel to NL, as well as the Covid-19 Protocol for AV production in NL you might want to read.
